London: Author JK Rowling has won a battle to build two luxury tree houses in her garden, despite protests from local residents.
The Harry Potter creator applied for permission for the 250,000-pound structures as part of renovations at her Edinburgh mansion.
Neighbours objected after the plans were put to the city council last month but officials have now given the go-ahead, the Daily Express reported.
The writer’s nine-year-old son and seven-year-old daughter will each get a two-storey house, almost 40ft high, with secret tunnels and bay windows.
Ms Rowling, 46, bought the 17th century, 33-room mansion for just over 2million pounds 2m years ago.
