Mumbai: Actress Nushrat Bharucha, who has been a part of 2010 TV show ‘Seven’, finds the medium very restrictive and says she doesn`t derive job satisfaction by doing serials and soaps.
"In a TV setup, my body feels restricted as I have to emote only from my face. I find it restricting. Now that I have done it once, I can safely say I don`t want to do it again," Nushrat said.
"I can shoot even for 24 hours, but I cannot do too many scenes in these 24 hours. In TV, this happens because it is a daily medium, but I cannot work like that as I need time for my scenes."
"I need to prepare and I cannot do it in a rush. That medium doesn`t give me that satisfaction of doing a character creatively," she added.
Before TV, the actress did films too. She made her Bollywood debut with 2006 film ‘Jai Santoshi Maa’. Later she did ‘Kal Kissne Dekha’ and ‘LSD: Love, Sex Aur Dhokha’ in 2009 and 2010 respectively.
But she got noticed in director Luv Ranjan`s 2011 romantic comedy ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama’, where she played a nagging girlfriend.
She also features in the director`s next project – ‘Akaash Vani’.
Nushrat says she relates more to the character Vani in ‘Akaash Vani’ rather than Neha in ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama’.
"One thing I like about Vani, which I did not like in Neha, is the way she views love as an emotion. Vani views love with so much purity and without manipulation. She is young and pure. This is my perception of love and this is the way I would want to love someone. So, I prefer Vani over Neha," she said.
She is aware of the fact that the two films will be compared due to the similar star cast, but says comparison is not valid.
"I know comparisons will be made. I feel there is no harm in drawing parallels, but that should be done with films of same genres. You cannot compare a comedy with a romance. Even if it is the same actor, they will perform differently," she said.
‘Akaash Vani’ releases Friday.
Talking about her future plans, the actress said: "I have not thought about the kind of films I want to do in the future because if I do, I will be restricting my judgment."
