Russell Brand wants a knighthood

London: Funnyman Russell Brand, who claims to have a soft spot for the Queen, says he deserves a knighthood.

The 37-year-old ‘Arthur’ star said that he should be soon given the honours, reported Sun online. "They can`t ignore me for much longer. I should have a knighthood. Otherwise the people will revolt," he said. Brand has been openly telling about his love for Queen Elizabeth and the Royal Family and was very upset about missing the Queen`s Diamond Jubilee celebrations in London earlier this month. "It hurts my heart. It`s a great time in our country and I`m devastated not to be there. I love the Queen and have never been so in love with her since I came to America. But we will be honouring the Queen in our own special way," he added. PTI
