Srinagar, Oct 13: Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's employment package for Jammu and Kashmir today took formal shape when Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed distributed over 1000 employment orders to unemployed youth here. Under Rehbar-e-Taleem and Sarva Shikshya Abhiyan schemes, the Chief Minister distributed employment orders among 1050 youth at a function here thus initiating the employment package of one lakh jobs announced by Vajpayee during his visit to the valley in April. Another 25,000 youth will be recruited under the scheme for a remuneration of Rs 1500 per month for two years initially which will be enhanced by Rs 500 for another three years when village education committees, to be formed to monitor the performance of the teachers, will submit report for their regularisation. Addressing the newly appointed teachers, the Chief Minister said the recruitment for the seven battalions of Home and Hearth Force will start on November 01. Similar appointments will be carried out in railways and some other departments, he added. He exhorted them to consider their five years of service prior to regularisation as their contribution towards nation building.
"I consider this as your missionary zeal to spread education in the state which is important for development," Sayeed said.
