Mumbai: Bengali actress Paoli Dam, who plays a lawyer in Vikram Bhatt`s production ‘Ankur Arora Murder Case’, says her character in the film is close to life and she enjoyed playing it.
Written by Bhatt and directed by Suhail Tatari, ‘Ankur Arora Murder Case’, a medical thriller, is said to be based on a real-life incident where a boy dies on the operation table due to medical negligence.
"It`s (character in the film) something very real and close to life and it`s a de-glamourised role. It`s something that I really enjoyed playing," the actress, who began her big screen journey with Bengali movie ‘Kaalbela’, said here in an interview.
Her first Hindi movie was ‘Hate Story’ and she insists that ‘Ankur Arora Murder Case’ is a "very different film and different character from what I did in `Hate Story`".
Paoli further said: "I am really looking forward to this film."
"Hate Story" saw Paoli as Kavyah, who goes way beyond to take revenge for her humiliation -- she uses herself to lure and trap her enemies. She raised eyebrows with her dare bare act in the 2012 release.
Elaborating on ‘Ankur Arora Murder Case’ story, Paoli said: "It is about medical negligence... a very serious issue... It`s very unfortunate if something like medical negligence happens because we think doctors are god and they save lives. But at the same time a lot of accidents happen and, at times, it is deliberately done."
Also, starring Kay Kay Menon, Tisca Chopra and Arjun Mathur, ‘Ankur Arora Murder Case’ is slated to release June 14.
