Islamabad, May 27: Extending tacit support to the recent moves by Pakistan government to curb Hizbul Mujahideen, Jamaat Islami (JI), believed to be the political sponsor of the militant outfit, has reportedly asked it to shift offices from the JI premises as well. JI has asked the Hizbul to shift its offices from the premises of the Jamaat offices, Pakistan newspaper Daily Times quoted Hizbul sources as saying. On Sunday, JI chief Qazi Hussein Ahmad told reporters such offices were established by Hizbul sympathisers and not by JI. The daily said the Hizbul cadre have been operating from the premises of JI offices since 1990. Besides ordering to vacate the premises, ji leadership had also asked the Hizbul to remove all hoardings and signboards from Jamaat offices across the country.

The JI orders to Hizbul to vacate the premises followed a measured crackdown launched by Pakistan government.

In another development, Qazi Hussain surprised the media here by stating that India should help resolving Kashmir and other issues with Pakistan in order to prevent US intervention in the region.
"We invite India to help stop us infiltration in this region and decide our problems amicably ourselves," he was quoted as saying at a meeting in Lahore yesterday. Bureau Report
