Cancer-stricken Robin Gibb set to leave hospital this week

Gibb could be discharged from hospital within this week as the Bee Gee continues to make a miraculous recovery from cancer.

London: Robin Gibb could be discharged from hospital within this week as the Bee Gee continues to make a miraculous recovery from cancer.
The 62-year-old singer has shocked doctors with his “iron will” and “remarkable physical endurance” after he emerged from a nine-day coma. He is now sitting up in bed and talking to his family. In the last few days, doctors have told wife Dwina that he could be back at the couple’s 8-million-pound home in Thame, Oxon, soon. The singer, who is battling colon and liver cancer, is recovering from pneumonia and a twisted colon – the same condition that his twin Maurice was suffering from when he died in 2003. “Robin is still weak but getting better by the day. His recovery is nothing short of a miracle. Weeks ago Dwina and the family were prepared for the worst, now they are hoping he will be home very soon,” the Mirror quoted a friend as saying. “They will not rush him but there is a very good possibility of him being discharged at the end of the week and arrangements are being made for him to have medical help at home. “The doctors will not take the decision lightly. Dwina will make sure his every medical need is catered for. Robin is aware how close to death he was. But he is determined to go home,” the friend added. Speaking about his battle Dwina said: “The doctors asked Robin if he wanted them to do everything in their power to save his life – or if he felt the time would come when enough was enough. He told them, ‘There will never be a time when enough is enough’.” ANI
