Imphal, June 10: Union Minister of State for Home I D Swami today discussed the situation in Manipur, especially increasing insurgent activities, with governor Ved Marwah and chief minister O Ibobi Singh, official sources said. Senior security officials, who were present at the meeting between Swami and Singh, briefed the Union Minister, who is on a two-day visit to the state.

The kidnapping and killing of businessman Manoj Sethi also figured at the meeting.
Swami also met the Governor separately and discussed the prevailing situation in the state.
Expressing concern over increasing violent activities in the state, swami stressed the need to maintain law and order so that development work could go on, the sources said.
The Chief Minister told him about the steps being taken to restore peace in the state.
