Mumbai: They first make bold statements and then claim to be misquoted. A video showing adman, Suhel Seth claiming that “Mahesh Bhatts and Subhash Ghais” should make good cinema and not indulge in casting couch that has been doing the rounds of the internet.
Seth, who is also a well know columnist, said, “My appeal to all the Mahesh Bhatts and Subhash Ghais and all the titans would be to get off your casting couch - you`ve been there, done her - and start investing in people who can write good scripts.”
Meanwhile, Mahesh Bhatt’s daughter, actress and filmmaker Pooja Bhatt took to Twitter to clear the air. Pooja tweeted, “Media calling me about some statement my friend Suhel Seth made about my father & the casting couch!? Ahem! Is that how ROG came to fruition? Must add that of all the people my father has cast, the thought of Suhel Seth spread eagle across my father`s casting couch is most alarming!(sic)”
Soon enough, Suhel, who had starred in Bhatt’s ‘Rog’ replied to Pooja’s tweet and said, “watch how I jam the folks who contorted everything I said thanks to trite editing...your Dad`s my friend and someone I respect!(sic)”
When another of Suhel’s followers asked him to comment on the entire matter, the adman claimed that it was just trite editing and he didn’t wish to react on it.”
Suhel lashed out at the media and tweeted, “They`re a bunch of idiots who say that! I know and respect both! It was trite editing which is why I haven`t bothered!(sic)”
Mincing words now, Mr Seth?
