London: American singer Usher says he was planning a duet with Amy Winehouse before her death last year.
The 33-year-old "Yeah!" hitmaker said that he had approached Winehouse`s producer Salaam Remi for his desire to work with her but could not get enough time to hit the studio with her, reported Contactmusic.
"There were a few conversations that took place, but we never quite made to it. I would have loved it. It could have been one of the most incredible records ever. A voice like that comes once in a lifetime," he said.
Usher also said that he met Winehouse once and really liked her.
"We talked and exchanged information and I invited her to a show and she didn`t come," he added.
