Washington: Britain’s Prince Harry has accepted a humanitarian prize from the Atlantic Council, a Washington-based think-tank for his work supporting charities that help injured British and American military personnel.
Harry, 27, on his first visit to Washington, was presented the award at a function at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel by former US secretary of state and Gulf War commander Colin Powell, the Sydney Morning Herald reports.
Harry, a British Army captain who served in Afghanistan four years ago, was being recognised for his efforts championing forces charities such as Walking With The Wounded and Help For Heroes.
