Washington: Lindsay Lohan has hit back at claims that she assaulted a Betty Ford Center staff member in 2010, filing a legal response to absolve her of any wrongdoing. Former employee Dawn Bradley accused the ‘Mean Girls’ star of grabbing her wrist and twisting it when she tried to give the actress - then a patient at the rehab facility - a breathalyser test in December 2010.
Bradley launched a 1 million dollar legal battle against the actress back in August 2011, claiming she suffered “great mental, physical and nervous pain and suffering” from the alleged assault. Lohan was served the lawsuit in October last year, a website has reported. Now, she has fired back at the allegations, claiming she was provoked and thus acted out in self-defence.
The star’s attorneys filed the legal response on her behalf at California’s Riverside Country Superior Court on 10 January 2012, claiming Bradley provoked the entire incident and so Lohan shouldn’t have to pay her a cent. Lohan is also requesting that Bradley cover her legal fees, plus any other relief the court sees fit.
