Chennai: She may not have had a dream debut, but southern actress Vidyullekha Raman is happy with the way her career is shaping up. She recently completed shooting for untitled Telugu film with junior NTR, and now she has bagged Ajith Kumar`s yet-to-be titled Tamil project as well.
"I`m extremely happy that I have got Ajith sir`s new film. I`ll be shooting for the film from the first schedule onwards. And for the third time in a row, I`m paired opposite N. Santhanam. I`m really looking forward to the project," the actress, also known as Vidyu, told IANS. "I`ll be doing a photo shoot for the film today (Monday), and we are likely to start shooting from April 8 in Hyderabad," she added. She has just completed filming for upcoming Tamil comedy "Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru" featuring Siddharth Suryanarayan and Hansika Motwani. "I play Hansika`s friend in the film. It`s an out-and-out laugh riot and this is my second film with Santhanam. We seem to have hit it off quite well together since my debut," Vidyu said. When asked if she doesn`t get bored doing comedies, she said: "I enjoy doing comedy and moreover, I`m starting to get different roles. For instance, I recently finished a Telugu film called `Weekend Love`, in which I play a comedy role that gets serious afterwards. I felt this role actually tapped the actor within me." Juggling between two industries, Tamil and Telugu, Vidyu says it`s important for her to learn Telugu. "I don`t have issues in Tamil because it`s my mother tongue. However, I`m finding it difficult in Telugu and, therefore, have started taking classes to learn the language. I can see the difference since I started taking classes in Telugu, and I`m happy about it," she said. "It`s important to learn the language because it helps you improvise while acting. I can see the change in my own case," she added. IANS
