London: Kelly Rowland, who is nominated for Best Rap Song at the Grammy Awards, was named Black Women In Music’s rising icon. According to a leading daily, Rowland was recognised for her longevity in the music industry as well as for being nominated for an award at the upcoming ceremony.
The former Destiny’s Child singer, 30, glowed in a long gown and performed her new single ‘Motivation’ at the bash, a daily has reported. Before the Black Women In Music ceremony, she had told the LA Times that she was still unsure over her future on X Factor in the UK.
“I know as much as anyone else. Everything is up in the air, but that’s the excitement of working with Simon Cowell. He’s unpredictable,” she said.
“And the UK is just on fire with talent. It’s remarkable that people, the country, stays in on Saturday night to watch the show,” she added.
