New Delhi: Francis Lawrence, who made ‘I am Legend’ is all ready to give direction to the final two installments of the ‘The Hunger Games’ franchise, revealed a statement given by studio Lionsgate on Thursday.
The announcement has dismissed the speculations that Lionsgate might go with a different director to work on the project titled ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay’, which happens to be the final part of the trilogy to be split into two films.
Currently, Francis Lawrence is busy making the second film in the franchise, ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’, to be released in November 2013. ‘Mockingjay Part 1’ is slated for a November 2014 release with its Part 2 coming a year later.
The announcement also mentioned stars like Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth who will play the lead parts in the final two films.
Apparently, the films are adapted from the bestselling young-adult novels written by author Suzanne Collins.
