Chennai: He is what a true artiste should be like- extremely dedicated, incredibly talented and exceptionally humble. Kamal Haasan, the powerhouse of super talent turned a year ‘younger’ today!
The veteran artist is all set to make a splash on the silver screen once again with his Indian spy thriller ‘Vishwaroop’ in Hindi and ‘Vishwaroopam’ in Tamil in January next year. And his fans can’t wait to watch him set the big screen ablaze with yet another dumbfounding performance.
The veteran began his film career as a child artist in `Kaluthur Kannamma` and won the National Award for the Best Child Artist in 1960. He is the only actor to have won three National Awards in the Best Actor category.
Though Haasan is predominantly seen working in regional (south Indian) films, he is equally popular in Hindi cinema and is held in high esteem by his Hindi counterparts.
Kamal has acted in Hindi films `Ek Duje Ke Liye`, `Sadma`, `Ek Nai Paheli`, `Chachi 420` , `Hey Ram` to name a few. He is a multi-linguist who has acted in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada films.
Haasan, who happens to be the only celebrity to have turned his fan club into a social service centre, had earlier pledged to donate his organs to medical students for research last year. He is a philanthropist who takes an active part in a lot of social welfare activities.
Here’s wishing the living legend a very Happy 58th Birthday.
