Los Angeles: Director Ridley Scott has halted work on his new film `The Counselor` to be with his family following the death of his brother Tony.
The `Top Gun` filmmaker, 68, jumped to his death from the Vincent Thomas Bridge in Los Angeles and his body was recovered by divers several hours later.
His sibling and fellow director Ridley was spotted at London`s Heathrow Airport on Monday waiting to catch a flight to LA, where he is expected to comfort his sister-in-law, Donna Wilson Scott, and his twin nephews, said The Hollywood Reporter.
It has now emerged he has suspended shooting on his new project, which stars Brad Pitt and Cameron Diaz, in London to deal with the tragic news.
Reports say that Tony Scott was diagnosed with inoperable brain cancer before his death, although the speculation is yet to be confirmed.
