Cannes: Writer-director Andrew Dominik`s fictional biopic on screen diva Marilyn Monroe has been optioned by Worldwide entertainment.
Dominik is best known for his work in movies likes `The Assassination Of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford` and Brad Pitt starrer `Killing Them Softly`, the Deadline reported.
Monroe has been a fascinating and beguiling figure for Hollywood filmmakers with numerous projects on, the last one being director Simon Curtis` `My Week With Marilyn starring Michelle Williams as the blonde diva.
Dominik`s film is also titled `Blonde`. It is based on a 700-page imagined memoir written by Joyce Carol Oates, which was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award in 2001.
