London: Beatles’ manager Brian Epstein, who died 45 years ago because of an accidental drug overdose, is the subject of two upcoming movies.
One of the movies is based on a graphic novel and the other is to be produced by Tom Hanks, a leading daily has reported.
Benedict Cumberbatch has been roped in to play Epstein in Hanks’ movie.
Hanks’ movie will be competing with ‘The Fifth Beatle,’ based on an upcoming graphic novel written by Vivek Tiwary, the publication said.
Although no casting has been announced, the movie, written by Tiwary, has secured music rights to the Beatles songs, the paper added.
But there is no word yet on whether either screenplay will delve into the long-rumoured homosexual liaison between Epstein and John Lennon, the paper said.
