Mumbai: Sanjay Dutt, who surrendered on Thursday before a TADA court to complete his jail term following the Supreme Court’s verdict on the 1993 Mumbai blasts case last month, found support galore from close friends and family.
Salman Khan is one such friend of the ‘Munnabhai’ star, who has stood by him through thick and thin. Khan has reportedly been in touch with Sanjay’s US-based daughter Trishala (from first wife Richa), since the last one month.
The actor was in the US when he learnt about the Supreme Court’s verdict on Sanjay Dutt and had visited him immediately after returning from the States.
“Salman was in America when the news of Dutt`s conviction broke. The first person Salman called was Trishala who has been away from her father for a long time. Sallu promised to be there for her whenever she needed him,” a leading daily quoted a source as saying.
Reportedly, Salman paid a visit to Sanjay on Wednesday, a day before Sanjay was schedule to surrender before the court.
Salman and Sanjay have worked in ‘Saajan’, ‘Chal Mere Bhai’ and have co-hosted the fifth season of TV reality show ‘Bigg Boss’.
