New Delhi, Aug 02: Strongly condemning the terror attack in a Russian city, India today called for "more effective action" at the level of the UN and by individual
countries to fight the scourge.
"The Government of India vigorously condemns the heinous
attack on a hospital in the north Ossetian city of Mozdok in
the Russian federation, which has resulted in several
casualties," an External Affairs Ministry spokesman said in a
statement here.
"No cause, no grievance, can justify such senseless and brutal terrorist attacks," he said adding the perpetrators of these acts should understand the deep revulsion they provoke internationally.
As strategic partners, India and Russia were committed to act firmly together against terrorism, he said while asking the international community to strengthen its resolve to eradicate the menace of terrorism.
This should be done by "greater cooperation" in striking at the roots of terrorism, dismantling its infrastructure, and isolating groups and external forces that continued to give sustenance to terrorism by funding and nourishing the dangerous networks involved.
"More effective action is required at the level of the UN and by individual countries, the spokesman added. Bureau Report
