Cannes: The Indian pavillion, set up by the National Film Development Corporation on behalf of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting here, has generated a healthy enthusiasm amongst delegates, visitors as well as the members of the International Film fraternity at the 66th Cannes Film Festival.
The Festival De Cannes celebrates the centenary of Indian Cinema this year where India has been accorded the status of `Special Guest Country`.
An official statement said that the India Pavilion has been set up with the objective of creating a global footprint for Indian Cinema as well as for promoting India as an attractive filming destination for shooting features as well as documentaries.
With India celebrating 100 years of cinema, 2013 will see a significant rise in the number of delegates from the previous years, to celebrate this great occasion amongst the global film fraternity, the statement added.
