Los Angeles: Quentin Tarantino`s Western `Django Unchained` and Seth MacFarlane`s `Ted` lead MTV movie awards nominations after landing seven nods each.
`Django Unchained`, starring Jamie Foxx in the title role, and MacFarlane`s bawdy teddy-bear comedy are both up for Movie Of The Year, facing competition from `Silver Linings Playbook`, `The Avengers` and `The Dark Knight Rises`.
The Best Female Performance category will be a race between Anne Hathaway for `Les Miserables`, Mila Kunis for `Ted`, Jennifer Lawrence for `Silver Linings Playbook`, Emma Watson for `The Perks of Being a Wallflower` and Rebel Wilson for `Pitch Perfect`.
Meanwhile, Foxx is up for Best Male Performance, along with Ben Affleck for `Argo`, Bradley Cooper for `Silver Linings Playbook`, Daniel Day-Lewis for `Lincoln` and Channing Tatum for `Magic Mike`.
The `Dark Knight Rises` co-stars Marion Cotillard and Tom Hardy will fight it out to be named Best Villain, while `Skyfall`s Javier Bardem, `The Avengers` actor Tom Hiddleston and `Django Unchained` star Leonardo DiCaprio are also nominated for the honour.
The winners will be revealed on April 14.
