Stripping off in movies helps deal with my body issues, says Carey Mulligan

London: Carey Mulligan, who has got naked in the films `And When Did You Last See Your Father?` `An Education` and `Shame,` as well as in the stage play `Through A Glass Darkly`, has said that she is quite shy about showing off her charms in everyday life.

The 27-year-old actress told the Sun that in her own life she is very prudish about her body, or at least has been in the past. She said that she is always covering herself up rather than wearing skimpy outfits and thinks that she doesn`t look good in very short skirts. Mulligan admitted that she has not been entirely comfortable with revealing her most intimate body parts for roles and needed real guts to stand without any clothes in her film `Shame` in front of co-star Michael Fassbender. She said that with respect to nudity, it was vital to the character in `Shame,` who wasn`t supposed to be a very attractive character and needed to be emotionally naked and lost in different ways. She added that doing the nudity for `Shame` was actually very liberating for her and helped her deal with her own issues with her body. ANI
