Los Angeles: Actor Ryan Gosling has started shooting for his directorial debut ‘How to Catch a Monster’ and Christina Hendricks, who plays the key role in the fantasy noir, says it’s the largest role she has ever done.
The film is about a single mother, who lives in a vanishing city and is brought into a dark underworld when her son discovers a road that leads to an underwater village.
Hendricks, who plays Joan Harris in the TV series ‘Mad Men’, plays the mother.
"Ryan called me and asked me if I was interested in doing this film, and I said `One, of course, yes, and two, why me? And three, I don`t want to disappoint you`. It`s the largest role I`ve ever had, so this is one I`m definitely aware of my anxiety about," eonline.com quoted Hendricks as saying.
The film also stars Saoirse Ronan and Eva Mendes and is slated for a 2014 release.
