My daughter an influence on my film: Dibakar Banerjee

Mumbai: Filmmaker Dibakar Banerjee says his segment in `Bombay Talkies`, about parenthood, has been influenced by his daughter.

"My daughter is an influence on my film. To a daughter, a father can do no wrong. So you have to be this hero, otherwise you fail your child. It is a wonderful position to be in," Banerjee, who is married to Richa Puranesh, told reporters. "The story is about parenthood, I couldn`t have made the film three years back as my daughter wasn`t there with me," said the director of films like ‘Khosla Ka Ghosla’ and ‘Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!’. He feels that a child doesn`t "judge you". "But they want you to be the best thing in their life. Everyone judges you except that child. I could have had a miserable flop, but when I would come back to my child, I would be the hero," he said. `Bombay Talkies` is a compilation of four short films celebrating 100 years of Indian cinema. Others who have contributed to it are Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap and Karan Johar. IANS
