New Delhi: Famed for locking lips with the leading lady – or ladies – in all his films, Emraan Hashmi has believes that he is better off picking roles he is not “comfortable” portraying . During an interview to a leading daily, Hashmi said, “Comfort zone kills an actor. The more uncomfortable you are, the better you act, the more cushy you get, the worse you get as an actor. I have seen it happening to myself.” He added, “The films which I was comfortable doing and was confident about, did not fare well at the BO. Though repeating the people with whom I work, like for instance Ekta (Kapoor) with whom I have done three films, is more about sharing a rapport rather than being in a comfort zone. We have moved on from being cushy and comfortable because in each of the three films we have done together, whether it was Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai, The Dirty Picture and now Ek Thi Daayan, we have experimented with different genres." The 33-year-old actor made his Bollywood debut with Mahesh Bhatt’s ‘Footpath’ which was followed by the smashing Box Office hit ‘Murder’. Here’s wishing Emraan all the very best for all the ‘uncomfortable’ characters he chooses to play in future!
