BlackBerry Priv to cost around Rs 58,000; runs Android 5.1.1
BlackBerry Priv, the phone on which the company has pinned high hopes, is expected to cost around Rs 58,000 and would be running on Android 5.1.1

New Delhi: The Android BlackBerry Priv price is out. The UK-based retailer Carphone Warehouse has posted a price tag of GBP 579.99 i.e. approximately Rs. 58,000 on its site.
Earlier, last week BlackBerry had released an official promo video of the smartphone and had set up a pre-registration page to pre-book the orders.
Though, Carphone Warehouse has started taking actual pre-orders, the Priv will be officially launched in the UK on November 6.
The page also mentions a few interesting specifications of the new Android 5.1.1 as follows :
1) 5.4-inch QHD display, powered by a hexa-core (1.8GHz dual core + 1.44GHz quad core)
2) Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 SoC alongside 3GB of RAM.
3) 32GB internal storage - expandable up to 2TB via a microSD card
4) Powered by a massive 3410mAh battery.
5) Features an 18-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front shooter.
The company has also published blogs on its on-line site detailing some of the customizations it has done to make the Android experience on BlackBerry Priv more secure and private.
BlackBerry Priv is a crucial product for the company as it is banking on it to revive its flagging sales. The CEO of the company had announced earlier this month that if the company fails to sell 5 million handsets in a year, BlackBerry will exist the handset business in 2016
