Jon Hamm says he doesn’t consider himself `handsome`

Washington: Jon Hamm has admitted that he doesn’t see himself as a “handsome guy”.

The ‘Mad Men’ star worked as a high school teacher before becoming an actor at 25. “I don’t necessarily think of myself like the handsome guy. That’s reserved for Brad Pitt and Ryan Reynolds and those guys,” Contactmusic quoted him as telling Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “But it’s certainly nice when people say nice things about you, don’t get me wrong. I guess I never really thought of myself that way,” he added. The 41-year-old actor lost his mother to cancer when he was just 10 and his father a decade later. He believes that he has his friends and teachers to thank for helping him turn out as well as he did. “When people hear about it they think, ‘Oh my God, that’s so sad’, and it is in many ways. I wish I could share this success with my mother and father. I think they’d be incredibly proud. I’d be happy to have them around to see it and to be proud. But it wasn’t in the cards. “I was incredibly fortunate to have a group of friends whose families kind of rallied around to help me and help steer me in the right direction. As well as some pretty excellent teachers to lean on,” he said. ANI
