Los Angeles: Hollywood star Harrison Ford has signed up for `Anchorman: The Legend Continues`.
The 70-year-old actor will portray a legendary newscaster in the follow up to 2004 comedy movie `Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy`, which will also see him join fellow franchise newcomer Kristen Wiig, said the Hollywood Reporter.
Harrison`s alter-ego is said to be similar to NBC`s `Nightly News` anchor Tom Brokaw.
It will not be the first time he has portrayed an anchorman after taking on such a role in 2010 comedy `Morning Glory`, which also starred Diane Keaton and Rachel McAdams and was produced by JJ Abrams and Bryan Burk.
Harrison looks set to have a busy few years, which will see him work with Abrams again after it was recently reported that he is to reprise his role as Han Solo in the forthcoming `Star Wars` sequel.
The actor played the character in the original `Star Wars` trilogy between 1977 and 1983 along with Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher.
