London: Legendary comedian John Cleese has blasted BBC bosses saying that they have no idea how to make comedies any more.
The ‘Fawlty Towers’ star has accused the BBC comedy bosses of meddling in shows despite having no prior experiences, the Sun reported.
The 73-years-old comedian added that the people who became executives in the 1960s and 1970s had produced or directed a great deal of comedy.
But, according to him, the executive class of the present day had neither written nor directed any thing but want to interfere with every programme.
His latest outburst was for the “farewell” show about the Beeb’s Television Centre, to be shown on BBC4 on Friday.
