Dimpled hottie Deepika Padukone turns 27

New Delhi: Loved for her trendy, romantic girl roles, her on-screen chemistry with Saif and her rather gorgeous legs, Deepika Padukone turns 27 today! The Karnataka lass started her Bollywood career 5 years ago with ‘Om Shanti Om’ acting opposite one of her favourite actors Shah Rukh Khan and won a couple of awards and plenty of hearts for her performance. She has come a long way since then, through turbulent personal relationships, good and bad acting performances and that inevitable Tinseltown feature – controversies. Her latest movie, and the only one in 2012, won her lots of plaudits as she played the role of a rich, carefree, carpe-diem-living, club-frequenting, modern and trendy Veronica D’Costa in ‘Cocktail’. If rumours and reports are to be believed, the outgoing party-girl avatar isn’t quite how Deepika plans on spending her birthday as she looks to have a private celebration with close friends and family. Farah Khan, who provided her with her first break, tweeted her a birthday wish this morning: “Happy birthday 2 @deepikapadukone. uv come a long way baby! love n blessings always.” As for what’s in store for her in her 28th year on planet earth? Well, if 2012 was a quiet year with just one movie, this year sees her in 6. There is the much anticipated Rohit Shetty flick, ‘Chennai Express’, which has her opposite Shah Rukh Khan yet again. But her first movie of the year releases as early as the 25th of January in the second installment of the action thriller ‘Race’. Happy Birthday Deepika, here’s hoping you have a wonderful year ahead!
