Flipkart Lite: Now shop on company's mobile website

New Delhi: Are you one of those who constantly shy away from installing apps thinking it might take away a lot of storage on your mobile phone? Fret not! Online shopping portal Flipkart has launched the mobile web option of for shoppers –Flipkart Lite.

The mobile web gives you application app-like experience and is aimed at those who don't want to install apps.

The company has put out a video of this.

Flipkart Lite is accessible only via Google Chrome on Android phones as of now.

Media reports surfaced in July this year that Flipkart would shut its website and switch to 'app only' model, in a move to boost digital experience. However with the launch of this mobile website, the e-retailer seems to have dropped the plan.

It may be recalled that another popular online site Myntra has embraced an 'app only' model, which has so far evoked mixed response.
