New Delhi: Imagine this! With your hard-earned money, you order your dream phone – the iPhone. However, when the delivery came and you opened it – what? A fake iPhone? It's the mother of all shocks.
So, what happened to the original iPhone? Well! They were replaced by the delivery man. And hola! There goes another scam.
And this exactly what Chennai-based Flipkart delivery agent did – replaced 12 iPhones worth Rs 5 lakh with fake iPhones.
And how did he do it?
As per reports, B Naveen, a 21-year old graduate who worked as a delivery agent with Flipkart and was in-charge of Washermenpet area would order iPhones with fake address. Then he would replace the iPhones with fake iPhones and returned them to the company claiming that the customers were not satisfied with the product.
This went on for a month until his employer notice the unusual high number of iPhones being returned and that too, from a single locality.
Sensing something was not right, Flipkart carried out a probe and discovered that the phones dispatched and the ones returned were not the same.
B Naveen has been arrested by the Chennai police who claimed that he did so to settle debt.
