Mumbai: The god of realistic cinema, Prakash Jha is out with his new film and this time around the maverick director has chosen Naxalism as the theme behind his latest named ‘Chakravyuh’. Trailer of the film has released and going by the film’s pro cast, ‘Chakravyuh’ appears lot promising which is gaining strong anticipation by the day. The film stars Arjun Rampal, Manoj Bajpayee, Abhay Deol, Om Puri and Esha Gupta. Arjun Rampal is playing a courageous cop in the film. Sporting a moustache, the actor appears to get into the skin of his character. Talking about the film, Arjun said: "I am happy that I am doing this film. Prakash Jha is one of my favourite directors. It is a beautiful script.. it deals with issues that are relevant today.. the whole Naxal movement happening in country. It is very relatable, strong and powerful subject. This issue is something people should know which will be dealt in the film." Esha Gupta who rose to fame through ‘Jannat 2’ takes the de-glam route in the film. She too plays a cop but sans any flashy make up. The actress worked hard to shed her glamourous image. She has even done some action scenes including a helicopter stunt which was shot in Pachmarhi.
"This is an extremely topical film as it is set against the backdrop of Naxalism, yet, it`s a beautiful story about two friends," said Arjun. While Abhay Deol plays the role of a young rebel, newcomer Anjali Patil plays a Naxalite leader. Manoj Bajpayee also essays the role of a Naxalite leader with guts of steel. Om Puri plays the role of a professor. The film is set to release on 24th October.
