Mumbai: Here’s a piece of sad news for Punjabi music lovers. Kuly Ral, from the world renowned band RDB passed away this morning. The cause of his death is yet to be known, but it is believed that the musician might have succumbed to cancer.
The charismatic singer had played a huge role in making RDB a Punjabi band which conquered the UK and Indian Bhangra Industry.
Kuly along with his brothers Manj and Surj traveled around the world making great music, and worked with international artist Snoop Dogg, and Bollywood star, Akshay Kumar.
The UK trio gave blockbuster hits like ‘Shera Di Kaum Punjabi’ from Speedy Singhs’, ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana’, ‘Aloo Chaat’ and their latest number which created a rage among the youth, ‘Sadi Gali’ from the film ‘Tanu weds Manu’.
Kuly’s death is a huge blow to the Punjabi music industry; his contribution will never be forgotten.
Expressing shock over Kuly’s death, Akshay Kumar tweeted, “Just heard about Kuly from RDB`s sudden demise. Still reeling from the shock of the news. RIP.”
