London: The company that offered nine-month-old Harper Beckham a modelling contract has been inundated with photographs from parents claiming that their children are cuter than the star child.
Baby clothing company My1stYears.com said it wanted doting mothers and fathers to stop contacting them after being bombarded with images of their offspring.
They said the parents each insisted their little one was better looking and more adorable than the youngest daughter of Footballer David Beckham, and requested for a modelling contract for them also.
Daniel Price and Jonny Sitton, founder of the brand, said that they feared they may miss a response from the Beckham’s themselves amid the flood of other responses.
The company has apparently already prepared a range embroidered with Harper’s name on the off chance that Victoria and David let her model for them.
“We’ve been inundated with photographs and letters from parents who heard about our offer to Harper Beckham and who have asked if we will consider their little one as well,” the Telegraph quoted Price as saying.
“It’s wonderful that so many parents want their children to be associated with My1stYears.com but for now we’d like to respectfully ask parents to please stop sending in their pictures. We don’t want to miss a response from the Beckhams so we really need these emails to stop coming in,” he said.
A spokeswoman added the majority of speculative messages had come from the US, where the Beckhams have created a new life for themselves.
The company, which specialises in personalised baby gifts, claims to already have a number of celebrity fans, including the Beckhams’ friend Sir Elton John who was presented with a gift set for his son Zachary.
Fashion designer and former X Factor judge Dannii Minogue was also given gifts for her son Ethan.
“We’re hopeful that we’ll receive a positive response from the Beckhams, but if we don’t we do have some other great babies we can choose from,” Sitton said.
“This is a really exciting time for us.
“If Harper accepts the offer it will certainly give the brand a huge boost and of course we would love to work with the most stylish tot around,” he added.
