New York: The Kardashian sisters- Kourtney, Kim and Khloe- were forced to change the name of their makeup line from `Khroma Beauty` to `Kardashian Beauty` after nearly a yearlong trademark battle with Florida based cosmetics company `Kroma`.
An array of Khroma Beauty products had already been produced, promoted and were ready to hit more than 5,000 retailers across the U.S., but the full rollout hasn`t happened, the New York Daily News reported.
The brand, which is managed by Santa Monica, Calif. based Boldface Licensing and Branding, will be allowed to sell out its existing products under the Khroma name.
Lee Tillet Inc., that owns Kroma Makeup, will be given about 5 million dollars in royalties by Boldface.
Kroma Beauty argued in last June that the Kardashians` Khroma line was hurting their sales.
Nicole Ostoya, Boldface`s chief executive officer, told Women`s Wear Daily that they were confident that it`s not the name that matters to their fans, but the Kardashian sisters` commitment to making this line a true reflection of their love for cosmetics.
