Madhavan`s son donates birthday present money

Mumbai: Actor R Madhavan`s seven-year-old son, who recently celebrated his birthday, refused to accept presents from his friends and instead asked them to make donations to PETA for saving animals.

Madhavan, who has been a longtime PETA (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals) supporter, took to Twitter to share the news. "He has a cheque for PETA... Refused birthdays presents and insisted all his friends make donations to PETA," Madhavan posted. PETA later sent Vedant vegan goodies and a personalized note from PETA founder Ingrid Newkirk along with a book ‘50 Easy Ways Kids Can Help Animals’. Madhavan first appeared in a print ad promoting vegetarian eating and then sent a letter to food chain KFC asking them to improve their animal welfare standards. PTI
