A Doha-bound IndiGo Airlines flight with 134 passengers and 7 cabin crew members onboard suffered a bird hit in Chennai.
Chennai: A Doha-bound IndiGo Airlines flight with 134 passengers and 7 cabin crew members onboard suffered a bird hit soon after takeoff from Chennai early on Thursday.
The incident forced the pilot to land the flight back to the airport.
According to ANI, the IndiGo flight took off from Chennai at 2:15 am and soon after the takeoff suffered a bird hit.
The aircraft suffered little damage.
The IndiGo plane has been grounded at Chennai airport.
The IndiGo's engineers are assessing the extent of the damage done by the bird hit.
The passengers were accommodated on a different flight to Doha by 4:30 am.
