According to the ‘viral’ social media gossip, Urjit Patel is married to Nita Ambani’s sister. Now, it isn’t a crime to marry an Ambani. But in the wake of the government’s demonetisation drive, the ‘viral’ news appeared to subtly imply that with Patel in a marital alliance with Nita’s sister, the Ambanis might be privy to government secrets.

However, the truth is, the RBI Governor is NOT married to Nita Ambani’s sister. A report in The Times of India confirmed that Nita only has one sister – Mamta Dalal – who is a teacher at a school run by the Ambanis.
