New Delhi: New Zealand cricket team is considered as one of the best fielding units in the world. But on Sunday, the Kiwis were put to task by Australia, and they crumbled in Sydney.
In one moment, the Kiwis committed a farcical fielding allowing Mathew Wade and Pat Cummins steal two runs where stealing a single would have meant committing suicide.
It happened off the first ball of the 49th over as Matt Henry bowled to Wade. Henry, having seen Aussie skipper Steve Smith in a rampant mood, produced a yorker but it found the inside-edge behind the square.
The fielder at short-fine leg, under pressure, had a wild throw and the ball ended up in the opposite mid-wicket. Then the fielder at mid-wicket went for a direct throw at the non-striker's end, only to see Henry miss the run-out, even as the two Aussie batsmen scurry for covers.

Thanks to Smith's epic 164 off 157 balls, Australia, batting first, set a 325-run target for the Kiwis in the first ODI at Sydney Cricket Ground.
