Bangladesh`s new cricket sensation Sabbir Rehman caught in `raunchy advert` row - WATCH

New Delhi: Two poignant images emerged after Bangladesh's defeat to England by 22 runs in the first Test match at Chittagong on Monday, both featuring Sabir Rahman.
He ran out of partners as Bangladesh were denied a historic win, and the images of Joe Root consoling him dominated the social media on Monday, but the very next day, the new star found himself in an "image not fitting with national image".
The 24-year-old, along with model Naila Nayem, feature in this advert, but in a religiously conservative country, their bid to sell a product ended up inciting public ire.
In the advert for Oscar, Sabbir was holed up inside his house drinking the non-alcoholic malt beverage, before being discovered by the model who is dressed as a policewoman.
The model seductively handcuffs the 24-year-old batsman before he responds that drinking Oscar means "a little privacy is indeed needed".
"Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has circulated a directive to stop broadcasting of the ad," a Bangladesh cricket board official said on condition of anonymity.
"It does not fit with the image of Bangladesh cricket," he told AFP.
The advert has drawn sharp reaction online, mostly from those opposed to 34-year-old model Nayem whose previous promotion of breast cancer screenings was seen by some as sexually suggestive.
