New Delhi: Royal Challengers Bangalore have been the worst injury-hit IPL franchise going into the 2017 edition, and now South African hard-hitter AB de Villiers today revealed another heartbreaking news of him missing out RCB's opening clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 5.
Really disappointed to be missing the opening game of the IPL tomorrow, good luck to @ShaneRWatson33 and the rest of the @RCBTweets boys!

"Really disappointed to be missing the opening game of the IPL tomorrow, good luck to @ShaneRWatson33 and the rest of the @RCBTweets boys!," tweeted De Villiers expressing his dissapointment at missing out on the opening clash while also sending best wishes to the stand-in captain Shane Watson and rest of the teammates for the game.
Poking fun at De Villiers and RCB's present injury crisis, which saw Sarfaraz Khan being ruled out of the entire tournament just 2 days before the season start, Gujarat Lions opener Brendon McCullum joked that the Bengaluru franchise almost need to get their coach (Daniel Vettori) back on pitch considering the injury situation.
@ABdeVilliers17 @ShaneRWatson33 @RCBTweets Dodgy back again bro? You fellas almost need to roll out the coach for game 1!?

"Dodgy back again bro? You fellas almost need to roll out the coach for game 1!?," tweeted McCullum.
De Villiers was set to lead the side in Kohli's absence but back injury forced the South African out of the team's opening game of the season on Wednesday after he had missed the final of South Africa's domestic one-day tournament last week.
