New Delhi: After a media report, on Saturday, claimed that Anil team India coach Anil Kumble has been approached by BCCI for the role of team director but in the latest developments, CoA member Diana Edulji has denied those reports.
Kumble has done a highly impressive job since being named Indian cricket team's head coach on June 23, 2016 and some media reports recently suggested that BCCI are looking to promote him as team's director, making way for Rahul Dravid to take over the bandwagon from Jumbo.
In a report published by India today Edulji clarified that no such move has been made by CoA and Dravid will not be replacing Kumble as head coach.

Earlier, a report in New Indian Express stated that CoA is looking to change the coaching hierarchy on the lines similar to that of England and Wales Cricket Board.
“We need to move ahead with the times and that is why these structural changes are looked at. If it happens, Indian cricket will benefit, as one person will handle all the teams and there will be better coordination between all concerned. The plan is already in place and there is a strong possibility that when new contracts are given out, these changes will be made,” board sources told Express.
"It actually quite early to speak about this situation. Being both the coach and team director is indeed a hectic job and needs immense dedication. And with the schedule we have he is likely to get exhausted. Thus we need a back-up option, particularly with the Champions Trophy being round the corner,” the source further added.
The cricket advisory committee (CAC) consisting Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman and Sourav Ganguly was behind the selection of Kumble as coach of Team India while several reports claimed that Dravid was earlier approached for the same role but he refused.
