Shami bowled with a lot of fire on a placid Kotla pitch.

"We sent him to play, wanted to give him match practice. I've not spoken to selectors but all kinds of possibility approaching the next Test," Kohli said.
It is tough being a seam bowler for the Indian cricket team, especially when it comes to bowling in Tests on the pitches which mostly favour spin bowling.

Such has been the case for pacers in the ongoing India vs Australia series where despite their hard work, the quickies haven't had the similar share of wickets as compared to slow bowlers.
Coach Anil Kumble had decided to offload all-rounder Hardik Pandya ahead of the Ranchi Test without naming a replacement, with India sticking to just 15 men in the squad instead of 16.
It seems as if Shami will be the 16th memeber and is likely to make his way into the final XI as well, with many considering him to be replacing Ishant Sharma, who has been struggling for wickets ever since making his way into the squad.
