New Delhi: It just took the Indian cricket team a little more than an hour on Day 4 to clinch an eight-wicket victory, sealing the Border-Gavaskar series 2-1 to regain the trophy against Australia.
After a delightful set of performance by the Indian bowlers, the Aussies could only manage to set a target of 106 runs on the third day of the final Test match. With few overs still to go, openers KL Rahul and Murali Vijay stepped on to the field and gave the home side, a promising start.
Thus, it was just 87 more needed when the duo came down on the next day at HPCA stadium, Dharamsala. Despite losing two wickets, it was Rahul and stand-in captain Ajinkya Rahane who steered the home team past the target score to reclaim the trophy.
While the overjoyed Indian team glittered Dharamsala with the tri-colour, fellow teammates and former cricketers expressed their delight over social media.
Here are some of the reactions:

Ps India is the hardest place to win, only 2 bad sessions cost the young inexperienced Aussie team the series. Congrats again India
