Star India batter Virat Kohli continued his good run with the bat and slammed his 2nd consecutive fifty in Asia Cup 2022 in the Super 4 clash vs Pakistan on Sunday (September 4). Kohli, who came in to bat at his ideal number 3 in the batting lineup, smashed 60 of 44 balls to become the top-scorer for his side. This is his 2nd back to back fifty as Kohli has smashed a half-century in the last match vs Hong Kong as well a few days back. Kohli continued the good show and slammed 4 fours and 1 six respectively.

Not to forget, Kohli has now gone past Rohit Sharma in the list of most fifties in T20Is. Both Rohit and Virat were tied on 31 fifties but with a knock of 60 vs PAK, he went past his captain. Pakistan captain Babar Azam is currently on 27 fifties.

Twitter was all praise for Kohli, some saying that Virat of old was back. Others called him 'consistent' Kohli.

Check out the reactions here.

Earlier, captain Rohit Sharma (28) and KL Rahul (28) were outstanding in the Powerplay while Virat Kohli (60) gave glimpses of his vintage self by playing one of his most sublime knocks in recent times to take India to 181/7 in 20 overs.

What everyone wanted from India's top-order was a change in mindset and the strike rates of 175 (Rohit), 140 (Rahul) and 136 (Kohli) were a testimony to that. Kohli deserves the maximum credit for the total India achieved against Pakistan spinners, especially leg-spinner Shadab Khan (2/31 in 4 overs), who got important wickets of Rahul and Rishabh Pant (14). His innings had four boundaries and a six along with his signature running between the wickets where he effortlessly converted ones into twos.

Having been pilloried for their go-slow approach in the Powerplay, skipper Rohit signalled his intentions in the very first over when he gave Naseem Shah the charge and got a one-bounce-four over cover point. It was followed by a signature pull-shot for a six.
