New Delhi: India's ace spinner Ravindra Jadeja warmed up for the upcoming Test series against visiting New Zealand with a 10-wicket haul in the final match of 2016 Duleep Trophy.
Jadeja played only one match in the West Indies, with the Indian think tank preferring the combination of Ravichandran Ashwin and Amit Mishra.
But the 27-year-old left-arm spinner will be in focus during the lengthy home season, which starts with the first Test against the Kiwis on September 22 at Kanpur.
In India's last home series against South Africa, he took 23 wickets to become the second highest wicket-taker behind Ashwin (31).
And he is expected to play an integral part as Virat Kohli & Co continue to push for the no. 1 ranking in Test.
Drafted to play in the title match of Duleep Trophy, along with other India regulars, Jadeja took five wickets each in each innings to help Gautam Gambhir's India Blue beat Yuvraj Singh's India Red by 355 runs at Greater Noida on Wednesday.
