Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar has a few suggestions for the Indian team to improve their performance in the Centurion Test starting on Saturday.
Tendulkar scored plenty of runs in South Africa in his cricketing days, and Virat Kohli and Co. will do well to pay heed to his advice. Tendulkar's comments come in the wake of India's ignominious 72-run defeat in the first Test at Newlands in Cape Town.
Chasing 208 to win, the visitors put on a meek performance and folded for just 135 runs. In an interview to Hindustan Times, Tendulkar said: "Batsmen should concentrate in the first 25 overs and look to accelerate after 50; bowlers should bowl in the right areas, and more importantly, remain positive as a team."
While Tendulkar's former team-mate Virender Sehwag very much played down India's chances following the loss in Cape Town, the Bharat Ratna awardee doesn't think the players are mentally in bad shape following the embarrassing defeat earlier this week.
"While I don't think the team is mentally down after the Cape Town defeat, South Africa will have their tails up. This is going to be a huge test for the team management. What India do outside the field will be as important as on it," Tendulkar said.
